Graeme Wood, former Australian Test Opener & current Director of Cricket & Coach of 2016/17 Darlot Cup champions Christ Church Grammar Cricket Team First XI:
“In my role as Director of Cricket and Coach of the First XI at Christ Church Grammar School, I’m constantly involved in setting fielding drills and hitting catches etc. Over the last 6 months I’ve been using Richardson Cricket bats, locally manufactured and made from Australian Willow Blue Forestry, and have found these bats to be of the highest quality.”
Thanks Graeme!
It was a pleasure to make same bats for Graeme and his son Chris who plays for Fremantle District 1st Grade, especially as Graeme was one of my cricket heroes as a youngster.
Graeme told me Christchurch won the Darlot Cup for the first time in 27 years this season. Fantastic work Graeme!

Rhys Jenkins, of Applecross Cricket Club in WA’s WASTCA Competition is a multiple premiership player and top order batsmen in their OD2 side. This year he’s made a great start to the season averaging 41.0 with a highest score of 89 on Saturday vs Western Suburbs. Having purchased an RC Rampant at the start of the season he had this to say about his purchase:
“Absolutely loving the RC Rampant. I thought I had a good quality bat until I used this for the first time. It has an excellent sweet spot, brilliant balance in the pick-up…and it goes a long way when it hits. It’s provided me with great confidence in playing my shots. Couldn’t ask for anything more.”

In his first innings with his new Richardson Roar bat, James Richardson opened for U14 Frenchville Falcons in Rockhampton and scored 57 off 50 balls!
This is also the first 50 scored with a Richardson Cricket bat by a Richardson – well done James.

James’ Dad Mick wrote this nice testimonial about James’ Richardson Roar bat:
“When it became necessary to replace my 14 year old lad’s bat, we decided on a shift away from those made internationally to seek what was available made within Australia. And, we weren’t to be disappointed when we decided on Richardson Cricket. We ordered an RC “Roar” from Toby, who communicated with us regarding advice on suitability and the progress of the build. The turnaround from placing the order to delivery was outstanding: within a fortnight. In his first hit-out with the bat (out of the nets), James opened and knocked 57 for the U14 Frenchville Falcons on a very slow outfield, including a bag of fours and two sixes. James is thrilled with the bat Toby has handcrafted for him: he reckons it has the best middle of any bat he’s owned to this point, and he’s rapt with the weight and balance. I am very pleased to be able to purchase a quality bat from a West Australian craftsman, and in doing so, support our local bat-making industry. Kindest Regards, Mick Richardson, Rockhampton Q.”

Another nice testimonial arrived today from a customer in Melbourne. Andrew Russell order a 2lb 7oz RC Roar bat for his son, and had this to say about his purchase:
“I ordered a Roar Blade for my 15 year old son, partly because I wanted to support the local bat making industry but mainly because I was tired of spending money on the so called big name brand bats, most of which break or split very quickly. The bat arrived in Melbourne 14 days after ordering it from W.A and the way in which it was packaged was superb. I have had a couple of hits with it and it is a ripper and far surpasses anything manufactured overseas. Toby’s workmanship and customer service are first class. He is a credit to the local bat-making industry.
Cheers Andrew RUSSELL, Melbourne, Victoria.”

RC received a nice testimonial today from top flight WASTCA performer Rod Sammut, of Murdoch Melville Cricket Club. This season he’s scored 304 runs already, averaging 101. Great start to the season Rod!
” I have found my Richardson Cricket bat to be my favourite over 20 plus years of cricket. Put simply, balls that are hit, stay hit! It has a generous sweet spot and light pick-up which suits my wristy style of batting perfectly! I have spent far more on big brand bats over the years only to be disappointed over the lack of reward for effort! My Richardson Cricket bat proves that good craftmanship and quality Australian grown willow can match it with the very best!
Thanks for my secret weapon Richo!
All the best…Rod Sammut “
On Saturday he scored a 50 with his RC bat in 5th grade WASTCA.
